Heroes of Chomolungma

Ex-professional beekeeper Sir Edmund Percival Hillary and super amazing Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay were the first men to scale Mt. Everest, or Chomolungma. While in the Himalayas, they would often look for Yeti but never find him. In this way, one might think them unworthy.

Not so!

Here are the worthy friends. The two were very cheerful and plucky. After they "knocked the bastard off" (climbed Chomolungma), they did a lot to help out the Sherpa people, building them airfields, schools, and hospitals, as well as promoting their interests worldwide. To many people, Sherpa means "person who helps Western climber reach summit." Well, it ain't so.
