Yeti Year in Review

It has been a momentous year filled with a lot of Yeti Lve.

Let's take a gander...

MOVIES:

Yeti had prominent cameos in 2 popular US 3D animated kids' films:

He was friends with Dracula in Hotel Transylvania:

And he was friends with Santa Claus in Rise of the Guardians:

And let's not forget as well that he had a lightning-quick appearance in The Pirates!:

Yeti even had a lead in 2 films (though not as well viewed as the ones above):

Abominable Christmas:

Yoko (in Germany):

TELEVISION:

In a Simpsons episode this year, the father of the bartender character Moe was revealed to be the Yeti:

A commercial for gum featured a Yeti being very rude:

France had a commercial for sweaters.

Also, I didn't know about the following in time for last year's Yeti Year in Review, so allow me to rectify! They were BIG DEALS back in 2010:

Yeti in an Internet Explorer commercial

Yeti in The Regular Show

EXHIBITS:

The Hero, Villain, Yeti: Tibet in Comic Exhibition at the Rubin Museum of Art was pretty awesome.

Kids were encouraged to make their own comics featuring the Abominable One:.

And there was a way to pose for a photo:

MUSIC:

I found three examples of note:

Kate Bush:

Weird Al:

Bad Lip Reading does Coldplay:

GAMES:

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (2011) was probably the biggest deal since my last year end review.

Honorable Mentions go to:  Scarygirl (2012) and Mythos (2012)

I noticed there have been quite a few games with Yeti in the title:

Yeti/Sasquatch Annihilation (2011), Yeti Town (2011), Yeti Confetti (2011), Yeti Hunter (2012), and Yeti Jump (2012, Yeti Escape (2012)

Most of them were for the mobile platform.  A number of other prominent mobile titles featured Yeti, including:

Kingdom Rush (2011)
Legendary Wars (2011)
Run Like Hell! Yeti Edition (2012)
Ski Safari (2012)

TOYS:

Saks Fifth Avenue's had a plush Yeti for sale two years in a row. And they've put out a different picture book each year:

Android Yeti is a modified robot toy.

Park Starz put out a pretty stylistically cool Yeti vinyl figure, but it's extremely hard to get.

Yeti Roosevelt ruled the roost, but was also very rare. Or maybe it's not out yet. I mean, where is it?

I lposted my last Yeti Year in Review back in September 2011. And since that time, there have been a lot of changes to the site.

I started doing theme weeks:

Frozen Treats
Cyclops
Superheroes
Yeticorn

And introduced a number of new features:

And celebrated my 2000th post!

Thanks for a great year, fellow Yeti Lovers

Not Yeti Friday - Jack Frost

The Norse called him Jokul Frosti. He's a wild nature spirit, a trickster.  Like many Yeti, he's an Ice Person - the TVTropes term for someone with the power to create cold and frost at will.

Like Yeti, there's no one single iconic depiction of him:
