Throwback: Astroboy
Back in 2008 when I posted about it, there weren't many images of the yeti from the 1963 Japanese cartoon, Astroboy.
But now it's 2015 and I can happily present to you a clearer depiction, as well as an embedded youtube clip of the cartoon episode in question. Ah, what a difference seven years makes.
Btw, I believe this is the first ever example of a yeti turning out to be a robot.

I decided as a child that Nepal has my favorite flag btw. It's the only one that's not a rectangle or square. |

Yeti sculpture in the International Mountaineering Museum in Pokhara:
Banjhākri and Banjhākrini are shamanic deities in the tradition of the Tamang people of Nepal.
Banjhākri is a short, wild, simian trickster who is a descendant of the Sun. His ears are large and his feet point backward. Long, matted hair covers his entire body, except for his face and palms.. sound familiar?

Not Yeti Baby Friday - Yuki Warashi
Japanese folklore has child-like snow monsters.
"They look like cute, red-cheeked children clad in the traditional straw-peaked snow jackets. Their jackets have a hood that comes up to a point so that the snow can’t accumulate. The hood ties under the chin, and there are armholes that give freedom of movement."

Listen, Bigfoot's been riding a unicorn since, like, time immemorial.
