Yeti vs. Toucan Sam
Savanna has the Super-Scoop!
The new Froot Loops commercial is out there right this second, all flashin' on your Toobs. It features a yeti. With rainbow-dreadlocks!
This isn't the first time that Yeti has been the antagonist in television endorsements for breakfast cereals.
First, it was Corn Flakes, and then Cheerios.
But is this the first time that a yeti has fought a toucan? Methinks it is yes.

Apartment Therapy Yeti
Article in Apartment Therapy:
Liv, Jeff and the Friendly Yeti Sharing a Home
"Liv and Jeff are as fun and carefree as their artistic and handmade home. While Jeff finishes his painting in his studio, Liv is in her crafts room writing for her blog and hanging out with Friendly Yeti. Early this summer there will be a new little addition to the family and it isn't a baby yeti. Liv is currently in the process of putting together an inspiration board for a new nursery."It's actually a painting by home-owner Jeff McMillan.

Ben 10 vs. Yeti
There was an evil mind-controlled yeti in the 5th episode (Escape from Aggregor) of the cartoon Ben 10: Ultimate Alien.
You can watch a clip of Ben 10 (as "Four Arms") battling the yeti here.

Pictoplasma Loves the Yeti
Pictoplasma, an organisation dedicated to the art of character design, really gets it.
They have a new Missing Link Project where they are asking for submissions of yeti depictions.
Here's what they say about it:
"Suddenly they seem to be everywhere: white, hairy, friendly creatures, just feature-less enough to serve as the perfect empty screen, yet exactly the right amount of hairiness, to make you want to get into physical cuddle-mode."
...
"Even though no one, nowhere knows what Mr Yeti and co truly look like, by condensing all of those globally existent imaginary portraits down to their platonic ideal, we hope to get a better understanding of one of our time’s last secret characters."
YES! That's what I've been trying to say!
Get your submissions in by March 15th! See their site for more details.
I hope this means there will be a lot more yeti love out there!

Grand Chase Yeti
Grand Chase is a game for the PC. And it has a yeti boss.
With crystal horns!
I think crystal horns are the best kind of horns.
Reminds me of Balistreri's Frostbite character.
Anyway, here's the footage of the Grand Chase yeti if you are, I dunno, bored maybe? and like watching this kind of stuff (yeti appears about halfway through):

Not Yeti Friday - Physeter macrocephalus
Check out this yeti by Mister Manolo. It's what's called papercraft - download pattern, cut it out, fold, and assemble into a sculpture!

No wait, my bad. It's not yeti. It's Moby-Dick.
Source
Yep, Moby-Dick. Hey, can you blame me? Both yeti and Moby-Dick have humps like snow-hills.
Look it up, people. I am speaking FACT. It is writ large in the stars.

The Authenticity of Cakes
In this post on A Good Table, Nicky describes the cake she made for her son:
Nice!
"For his last birthday party he was very into Criptids [sic]. His favorite being the Yeti. And he wanted a Yeti cake complete with snow mountains. This may not be your idea of the Abominable Snowman but I looked it up, let me tell you, the actual Yeti is reddish brown in color, not white."
Nice!

Not Yeti Friday - The Shambler
Reader Lisa writes:
Good call!
The entry in the Quake Wiki describes it as: "a Yeti-like large beast with blood-stained white fur, a very large mouth displaying enormous fangs, no visible eyes, and sharp claws."
I've covered cyclops yeti before, but not NO-clops!
Source
The Telegraph considered it one of the scariest video game monsters.
And it's easy to see why... even without the lightning arms.
Source
Looking around the Internet, there is a lot of Shambler Love out there.

Just look at this Crazy Gallery of Shamblers! Somebody should start an "I Love the Shambler" blog.
This guy is soo into bloodpainting. He is like the quintessential bloodpainter. Nobody paints blood like the Shambler.
"I was wondering if you had covered "The Shambler" character in the original Quake computer game. Definitely Yeti-like and a completely scary monster when playing the game. Very hard to kill, as I recall. I think it shot lightning out of its arms or something. Excellent! Visit me online at The Flaming Nose TV Blog and the Movie Morlocks Blog (look for Medusa!)"Thanks, Lisa... No, I haven't covered the Shambler, and it's high time!
