Bill the Yeti now Available!

Plastic & Plush has the news.

If you like your yeti's clothed (personally I'd be tempted to rip them off -- just cuz I'm a purist, I guess), you can now get all three varieties of Bill the Yeti for 60 bucks each.

Not Yeti Friday - This Car

This car is not a yeti. Nope. Just a car.

"Dave, there's no such things as yetis..."

This is a serious find.

Super-reader Damien le YĆ©ti, from France (who has submitted a scoop to this blog before) found a commercial for LandSAR, an emergency response service in New Zealand, that has an animatronic yeti in the lead role. My favorite special effects company, Weta Workshop, did the yeti.

Basically the ad is saying: "Yetis won't save you. We will."

Thanks, Damien M.!

"Yeti's Best" produce box

Reader and artist Andy Rohr (posted about previously here) send me this fabulous find:
"this is my new favorite box produce box!!!
you can find them at whole foods!

Ok, yes, I am seriously going to have to track this box down from my local Whole Foods.

Thanks for the scoop, Andy!

Bill the Yeti is here!

As announced previously on this blog here and here, one of the biggest yeti things happening this year is David Lanham's Strangkiss vinyl figure, Bill the Yeti!

And it's making its debut right now at the San Diego Comic Con.

Plastic and Plush snapped the above photo.

P&P has some other photos, too, including this one of the packaging!

And for a closer look of the figure, go here.

Not Yeti Friday - Guwobe

MuddyFeet on Etsy created this Furry box guy -or- Secret treasure keeper creature.

Looked like a yeti to me.

However, she explains ~

"Although it appear to be just a lump of fur with eyes, there is far more to this guy than first meets the eye. In its own language, they call themselves the Guwobe (Guh-woe-bee) and it is unknown where or when they came to be. In the wild, they are elusive and exceptionally rare, but I have been fortunate enough to obtain a breeding pair and am pleased to able to offer their offspring to others to enjoy. Fiercely loyal to their keepers, they have the ability to stow away precious little treasures and will defend them with all their might."

Not Yeti Friday - Hibagon

The Hibagon is a yeti-like creature from Japan.

First spotted in 1970, it was described as a five-foot tall mountain-dwelling ape-man, with black fur and large white hands and feet.

Recently, it's entered Western popular culture as a cryptid character in the Cartoon Network show, "The Secret Saturdays".

I thought those were horns, but they may be some sort of... device???
