Kinda Frightening

Yeti figurine

Yeti Arcade: Primal Rage

Primal Rage (1994) was an arcade game notable for being animated with Harryhausenish stop-motion. Its hero is a yeti named Blizzard.

Not only is Blizzard a yeti, but he is the god of goodness and virtue. That's right: the god of goodness and virtue. I don't think you can get any better than that. Sorry, Second Commandment; I'm ready to grave an image of Blizzard and start supplicating.

What a guy.

Here he is in action:

Here's his action figure:

Here's some fan art devoted to him:

Thunderbirds vs. Yeti

Today I bring you, not an image, but a song....

Remember this 1960s British puppet TV show?

Well, a couple of key characters encountered the yeti and decided to sing a song about it.

Listen to this:

"Probably the strangest track Barry Gray wrote related to Thunderbirds. The Abominable Snowman appeared on the Century 21 mini album F.A.B which told the story of Lady Penelope & Parker investigating The Abominable Snowman.

Vocals David Graham & Sylvia Anderson"

Riding Roundup

People want to ride on yetis. Don't ask me why.

Maybe because... IT WOULD BE AWESOME?

Here's a roundup of artworks which unapologetically pursue this grand fantasy:

BONUS: Green Yetis

Because of the Irish diaspora in my country, there is an association with the color green for me on this day.

Hence, green yetis.

Not Yeti Friday - ROM the Spaceknight

ROM THE SPACEKNIGHT!

ROM had humble beginnings as this toy in 1979:

The toy needed sales. So Marvel Comics was hired to make a comic book series:

Little did they know what they would unleash upon the world!

Not toy sales, unfortunately. It bombed and was abandoned by its manufacturer.

BUT ROM LIVED ON!

In people's hearts and whatnot.

Edward Pun
