Alberto Russo created this poster that features a yeti illustration.

Red Sonja vs. Yeti

Red Sonja is one of the first bikini-clad barbarian warrior women. Recent comic book adaptations of her story have had her fight yetis.

You can check out scans from two of the pages from "Queen of the Frozen Wastes":

Page 1

Page 2

Or read my synopsis:

The Queen of the Frozen Wastes explains to Red Sonja that she was originally a yeti who lived alone in a cave. Later, she attracted many yeti followers.

Later, when a non-yeti human came and she ate him, she realized she liked her meat smart.

Then, presumably, she stopped being a yeti and became a half-naked lady with bones sticking out of her back.

This world has elected to follow the path to.... YETIS!

The Silver Surfer battles yeti in an alternate dimension in this section of a comic book from long ago.

At first, the Silver Surfer has sympathy for the yeti, recognizing that their motivations are rooted in fear, not savagery. While he gets soundly beat up by them, he continues to muse philosophically to himself on the subject. Then, just like that, he abruptly changes his mind, calls them all brutes living in a world of madness, and takes off.

Way to go, Silver Surfer.

Silver Surfer: And now I stand upon another world... far younger... far more primitive.. A world at the crossroads! And no man may predict which path it will elect to follow!

Silver Surfer: But wait~ I hear the sound of muffled footpads approaching! YETIS! The wild, savage snow-dwellers... The so-called Abominable Snowmen of earthly legend! They think me an enemy! They rush to attack... without question or pause!

Silver Surfer: Even they... poor, unthinking creatures of the frozen wastes... have been so wounded... so ruthlessly hunted for time without measure... that they fear any who invade their desolate domain! And, like so many who attack without reason... how often is blind, unreasoning fear the cause... rather than naked savagery?

Silver Surfer: They seek to smash me to the ground... to fell my [sic] by sheer weight of numbers! And I have not the words to turn aside their wrath! Since I do not wish to harm them, I will try another means..! Let my surfboard float... and thus attract their bestial attention!

Seconds later... Two huge, clutching hands seize the strangely alien object...

Silver Surfer: It is done! They have forgotten me! Now, as they battle for their prize... like the brutes they are... let my board and me again become as one! For I must leave this place of madness!

Monster Munch

Applied Arts, the creative effects studio, made this yeti to help sell "Monster Munch" in a commercial for UK children.

For those of you not from the UK, "Monster Munch" is a snack marketed to children in the United Kingdom since 1977. It is a "crisp" that is in the shape of a foot.

Here is a commercial from the 1980's for "Monster Munch". Note its uniquely British sensibility:

Sones Yeti

David Sones on his The Pickle Dog Blog has this to say about his yeti:

"This is a quick illustration of a Yeti on Rocket Skates. Rocket Skates are expensive items, especially on a Yeti's salary, but he needs them to carryout his important Yeti business."

This is a pretty good costume

Relationship with Leprechauns

Michael Daley's take on what would happen if yeti met a leprechaun.

I think what's going on here is the yeti disapproves of the leprechaun's wanton laziness, penchant for frivolity and trickery, propensity to drink in excess, and miserly tendencies regarding material wealth. Daley's yeti is an ascetic. Either that, or the leprechaun's mom.

Scooby Dooby Doo

I used to think Scooby Doo only encountered weird greedy men disguised as yeti in order to scare children away from discovering their illicit activity - and not the yeti itself, but recent comic books indicate the large mumbling dog and his friends are now actually meeting the Abominable Snowman for real. Needless-to-say, with these encounters, the yeti is not sad about being misunderstood. It happily lives up to its Abominable status, chasing the canine with beastly relish with a none-too-subtle desire to devour him and his human owners.

There is another one in this last one's series: "Il Cactus Carnivoro":

Looks like a serious winner.

Ferguson Yeti

Nice Job, Bill Ferguson.

Yeti Claws are real, elf-dude will tell you that much

Rich Koslowski poses the following question in his graphic novel, The List:

What if Santa Claus was real?

And apparently the yeti is in it.

Two interesting depictions

In the episode entitled "The Abominable Snowman" (view here) of the stop-motion kids show, The Amazing Adventures of Morph, the yeti is depicted as a sad and pathetic individual. Once more, we see an instance of the played-out trope of yeti disliking his "Abominable" appellation, citing it as unfair and socially disadvantageous. More friendly and innocuous than abominable, Yeti claims the title falsely represents him. What would you prefer, Pathetic Lumpy Clayman? Get over it.

Later, another trope is employed when Morph's colleagues refuse to believe his tale of encountering the Abominable Perfectly Normal Guy I'd Like to Be Friends With. Happy now?

This is yeti from the promotional music video on the Choose Your Own Adventure DVD (view here).

Now here's a yeti with some self-esteem. Still friendly and kind-hearted, the "Abominable" in front of his name doesn't bother him one bit.

This is one yeti that is choosing his own adventure!

Don't understand the concept of "purchasing"?

Then watch this video where the yeti, for no explainable reason, explains it.
