Viking Mount Yeti

This image entitled "Harald the Viking" is by artist Rey Misterio (Juan Molinet).

It is an excellent idea to incorporate a viking.

The only other time I've seen someone combine yeti and vikings is this painting by Tim Biskup:

And yeti-riding (with a person on the back of yeti) is a rarely pursued subject.

The only other time I've seen anything like it is in Dougal Dixon's bizarre book "Man After Man: An Anthropology of the Future", which proposes that humans will evolve into two different symbiotic species, one of which being a yeti that carries the other. Here is a page from it.

So congratulations, Mr. Rey Misterio (Juan Molinet), for pushing the field of Yeti Depiction into exciting new frontiers.

Mystery Murphy Yeti Deck

It's the deck for a skateboard. And it's made by Mystery Skateboards. And they have called it the Murphy.

Besides Yeti, there are also Hell Hound, Flying Monkey, and Archosaur board designs as well (with names Smith, Lopez, and Lindsey respectively).

Morse Yeti

The talented and prolific artist Scott Morse (blog, portfolio) is excellent, and I don't mind telling you.



He made the comic book version of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps book "The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena", which had this original cover:



The comic was published with two other stories in a compilation entitled Creepy Creatures.

Gold-Toothed Yeti like Soda Flowers

This is the yeti from a commercial for Fanta soda, which you can view in its entirety below.

When yeti is offered one to drink, it turns into a bouquet of flowers. Yeti is SHOCKED at first but becomes inexplicably pleased at the subterfuge.

Please note its possession of a single, gold tooth.

Not Yeti Friday - Ice Lodge Uglydoll

What are Uglydolls?

They are a collection of designer toys created by independent toy designers David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. They are considered extremely stylish and hip. An attempt is made by the designers to explore the juxtaposition of cuteness with ugliness.

For the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con, a special series of all white Uglydoll plushes was manufactured under the "Ice Lodge" product heading.

They Might Be Yeti.

If you think about it, most modern yeti depiction is often an artful exploration of ugliness mixed with cuteness.

Here are a couple of the most yeti-ish of the Ice Lodge Uglydolls:

A-Bomb of the Enigmas

The Enigmas was an action-comedy comic book series. One of its protagonists was a yeti named A-Bomb.

Kudos to the creators for thinking up that most perfect nickname for the Abominable Snowman... A-Bomb!
