Photobominable!

Today, May 3, 2016, marks the three year anniversary of the coining of the phrase "photobominable" to describe a yeti photobombing.

For a unique engagement photo series, Jamie and Kristen worked with Lauren Lindley Photography to feature themselves romantically walking their dog through the woods as one might expect of two recently engaged lovebirds... only to have a Yeti unexpectedly show up in the background of the photo shoot to crash the party!

See the whole series of photos; it's not to be missed!  There's a tree-as-weapon and the heroic treatment of a wound and a surprise return and a loyal canine, and well, you just got to go check out the rest.

This is the best example of Photobominable yet! Plus, it counts as a Wish List fulfillment (2012, # 9).

2013 Wish List Check

Last year, in a special Wish List, I asked Santa to place various yetis on the Internet for me to find.

Now it's time to see how Santa did.  How many of my wishes did he decide to grant?

I asked for more yetis at weddings. The Big Jolly Guy did not disappoint:

So let's total it up... Hmm, of the 15 wishes, Mr. Santa Claus only granted 2 of them. Not a great score, but still, many of them we're pretty tough.  I can't really fault him for not, for example, providing a depiction of yeti with an obscure 19th century occult religious figure (H.P. Blavatsky).

However, Santa FAILED big time with the following:

YUP. NOT YETI.  This should have been an easy one.  The Rise of the Guardians yeti is tailor-made for a toy, plush, or figurine.

COME ON.

And!...

What's missing from this picture? 

There's no yeti using it!  Yeti rhymes with neti (pot).  No brainer. 

Santa, you know I love you.  I appreciate all you do, but I'm hoping you will do better this upcoming year with my wishes.

Wedding Cookie

Loren Coleman got married (woohoo!) on Halloween, and this was the couple's wedding reception's take-away gift to all.

A (traditionally incorrect white) Yeti… Cookie

Artist Jeff McMillan sent me these photos from his wedding, and I think the awesomeness speaks for itself:








It looks like the guests tipped the yeti, and by the end of the night, he made out like a bandit.

McMillan built the 9 foot yeti himself for the nuptial occasion.

He explained that the yeti appears in a couple of his paintings. Here are little snips from two different ones...
