Now I've Seen Everything: Doom Patrol vs. Yeti

From the comic Doom Patrol, # 121 (December 1967)

Several surprises here...

First of all, it's 1967 and the yeti has horns.  This may be the first known recorded instance of a yeti depicted with horns.

And this may also be the first recorded instance of someone making the "Abdominal Snowman" joke.

Third of all, the yeti says "ARQQRRGH!"

Yep, with 2 Q's.

Then he says "UNGAAAAAAAA!"

And finally and most importantly, the yeti attack is interrupted by Beast Boy who gives him a pin depicting Mad Magazine mascot Alfred E. Neuman.  He convinces the yeti that this is a mirror and he's looking at himself.

The yeti thinks he looks like Alfred E. Neuman.

WHA?

I've combed through a LOT of kids cartoons over the years, searching for the yeti. And except for a few exceptions (I'm looking at you, DoDo: The Kid from Outer Space!) , I think I've found pretty much all of them.  Do let me know if I missed any!!

The brand new, rebooted Powerpuff Girls had yeti!

Particularly, a snowboarding, hat-wearing, using ice-as-weapon, kinda fella. Named Zack.

It aired July 2016.

Previously, only the comic book had an abominable snowman.

The film about the DC superhero Shazam is in the works and features the villain Black Adam, to be played by Dwayne Johnson, whose birthday it is today.  Happy birthday, The Actor Formerly Known as The Rock!

Anyway, back to the birthday boy's bad boy role - did you know that Black Adam has TWICE defeated yetis?

The first time was an actual superhero yeti named the Yeti from the Great Ten:

Oh man, he headlocked him to death.

And the second time is actually during his back story:

From Black Adam: The Dark Age Vol 1 2:  

Back in the Himalayas, Black Adam places Isis' remains in his satchel and begins the long trek down the mountainside. A Yeti emerges and attacks him, forcing Black Adam to drop his pack. Using his knife, Adam slices open the Yeti's stomach and grabs a hold of his intestines. He uses the beast's innards to rappel down the slope of the mountain to retrieve Isis' bones. Once he reaches the lower ledge, he severs his intestinal bungee cord and continues on his way. Source
