The kids cartoon "Super Little Fanta Heroes" (1997) has this description:

Gifted with their ancestors’ virtues, the heroes featured in these adventures are the following characters: Hercules and his friendly dog Cerberus, Hua Mulan and the friendly eagle Tylli, the Ninja Turtle Dragon, Ulysses – assisted by a Ram and Bear, King David and the cheetah Betsy, the Thief of Baghdad – aided and abetted by his cave lion Yubba, Jerome and the friendly cave cougar Bloody Knife with the buffalo Wapi, the protective Blue Yeti and two little dinosaurs named Knock and Hit.

Yep, a knock-off ninja turtle teams up with a motley crew of mythic characters and a bunch of random animals.  I'm going to come out and say it: This is the craziest cartoon of all time.

Great Yeti is sort of this Gandalf Monk to the heroes. He flies everyone on the back of a big blue bird but can also fly himself with his retinue of monks. Also, he has a magic sword that he can summon.  Oh man.... Great Yeti is amazing.

[Multi-eared Monday] Throwback: Sol Katmandu Park

Back in 2007, I blogged about a tourist attraction called "The House of Katmandu" which had this animatronic statue inside -  a stave-wielding, monk-friendly, sort of mogwai-esque, multi-eared yeti.
 

UPDATE: there's now a big hotel resort in Mallorca called Sol Katmandu Park, which uses the same multi-eared yeti, plus a pink female counterpart, as its mascots.

And there appears to be other multi-eared yeti characters  as well:

They even had a giant statue of him climbing up the side of the hotel!

Note that he is a Buddhist monk gone bad.

It's an interesting twist because traditionally, yeti is an evil monster gone good. You think he's going to maul you, but he's actually a kind and gentle friend.

This is a complete reversal.

You're right. Where is Jonny Quest?

He did encounter yeti in the popular entertainment cartoon.

Jonny saw that monsters were preying on a monastery in the tiny (probably fictitious) Himalayan village of Khumjug.

The snow creatures turn out to be fake though - merely men making out to mimic monsters. They dared emulate the abominable and were consumed by the real thing.

Guess who plays the voice of yeti? Why, Fred Flintsone, of course! Or rather, the voice of him - Henry Corden.

If that's not serendipitous, I guess I don't know what the word means!
