Yeti Arcade: Smite

Tu B’Shevat was yesterday and it marked the beginning of a “new year” for trees.

Hooray for trees.

I've illustrated before how yetis like to use trees as weapons (see examples here, here, here, here, here, here, etc.).

Another example: Tree-as-weapon

Perhaps the mythic giant Rübezahl is the progenitor.

Anyway, I have determined the identity of the current most famous yeti wielding a tree. Officially it is Kumbhalayan from the hugely popular video game Smite (2014) for PC and Xbox One.

In Smite, you can opt to play various gods from real world mythologies, and in spring 2015, Kumbhalayan was added to the roster. He saunters around wielding a giant tree. There is only one other yeti god I know of, also from a video game, and that is: Blizzard from Primal Rage.
