An early draft of The Empire Strikes Back was going to feature a war with a whole army of Wampas. The Wampas were going to team up with the Empire to fight the Rebels. The Millennium Falcon was going to get all jacked up during the battle. This was the original reason why the Millennium Falcon was malfunctioning for so much of the movie.
