Last year, my fav picture book with yeti was The Thing About Yetis by Vin Vogel.

Good news! - A follow-up to that book is coming out on 12/27/2016 called Bedtime for Yeti. Its subject is the bedtime of young children. Since children's bedtime has pretty much been my main focus and interest over the last year, I am doubly excited.

Kids Cartoon: The 7D

The 7D - aired March 2016 - Season 2 episode 8: "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yeti!" 

(Note: The 7D is an animated re-imagining of the titular characters from the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

Kids Cartoon: Laurel and Hardy

The Laurel and Hardy animated series ran for one season from 1966 to 1967. That's prime Yeti craze time.

And sure enough, His Himalayan Abominableness makes an appearance.   I'm not sure exactly which episode, probably "That's Snow Biz".

Yeti 'Nother New Picture Book This Year: The Thing About Yetis & The Snow Beast

This must be the 'Year of the Yeti Picture Book' - wow.

On the heels of 2013's Yeti, Turn Out the Light! and 2014's Spaghetti with the Yeti and The Really Abominable Snowman, we saw published this year:

That's six picture books out in 2015.

And that's not even including the heavily illustrated kids books Pugs of the Frozen North and the Yeti Files 2, nor the kid-friendly comics Lumberjanes and Abigail and the Snowman.

The Ice Cream Heroes aka Oskar and the Ice-Pick

In 1988, British illustrator David Parkins did a great job depicting the yetis from Judy Corbalis' children's chapter book, "Oskar and the Ice-pick" or as its known in the US, "The Ice Cream Heroes".

 

Probably the sweetest yeti picture I have ever seen.
