Today is the Day

It's that time of the year again, folks. Time to don the white fur and go out and gather candy!

I missed this great handmade kid costume from last year's Halloween. Click here to see.

I'm looking forward to seeing this year's Fall line-up.

Have a good 'Een, e'erbody!

Hats for Halloween

A lot of people may not want a yeti mask to wear for Halloween. Too hot, too heavy, too identity-concealing.

So I say:

How 'bout a hat?

Here are some of the fabulous HEADWEARS available on the Internet for those with penchants for face-free fun.

To begin, this is the Expedition Everest hat:

The pointy teeth extend onto the brow.

~~~~~
This hat has brow-jaws as well, but also bat-ears. It is only $25 at buycostumes.com:
Big ears, you know you're the one.
~~~~~

Perhaps you are of the ilk that likes the hand-made and the knitted. This is a hat fashioned in such fashion by bobcathats:

Note the gritted teeth of fury.

~~~~~
Said ilk will also enjoy this one worn by Domestic Dork, who purchased it just recently perhaps for Halloween?:
She does not reveal from whence it came, alas.
Update: Holly Noelle from Domestic Dork let us know in the comments that one can buy the Yeti hat here.
~~~~~

Care for horns? You will be satisfied by the hat by Fairly Enchanted Designs:

And also for the horn-aficionado, this hat is by Creature Co-op:

So there you are... HATS!

More Yeti in Hockey‏

Reader Q-girl has this awesome scoop:

Hockey player Craig Anderson has a customized design of his helmet that depicts either a yeti or an albino gorilla.

My guess is ABMNBLSNWMN!

The site mentions that David Aebischer had a similar mask back in the day. This is it here.

I've blogged about yeti and hockey here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Not Yeti Friday - Yigby the Baby Monstroctopus

"Love and a Sandwich" is one of the All-Stars of the yeti-representation community.

I previously blogged about her work here, here, and here ('cuz of her crab).

She's still producing magnificent yeti related plush creatures.

Including the one above - Yigby, of which she writes:
Yigby is a special breed of Monstroctopus. He's a bit of a "mutt" of the monstroctopus world. His mother was a monstroctopus, but his father was a yeti. They met in the cold arctic oceans and fell madly in love. With Yigby having both Yeti and Monstroctopus blood flowing in him, it makes him very special. He has two sets of teeth, and can swim or crawl on land. He also inherited his father's lust for meat, and he is a dangerous carnivore. So.. be careful with him.

Yigby, even though you are a half-breed, I love you anyway.

Today I say:

I LOVE YIGBY... so you don't have to.

Don't know if you've posted this guy before, but he's a ways down the

Burroughs Wampa

A Wampa is a yeti. Sorry, purists. Here's one by Scott Burroughs.
