But then I looked into it, and it appears the above depicts Wonder Woman actually battling enhanced gorilla youths from Gorilla City.
In fact, the picture may have just been a conceptual painting, and it was later decided the youths shouldn't be naked and colored in blues and whites (very yeti-ish), but clothed in futuristic armor with warm brownish gray shading instead. Here's the more recent cover design:
And from what I can tell from panels inside the comic, there are no white-haired, naked yetis in the story, just grayish-brown, armored gorilla youths from Gorilla City, albeit enhanced gorilla youths.
Ah well. One day we'll see that match-up. And it will be the showdown of showdowns.
