The
Simurgh or Angha is a benevolent, flying creature from Persian mythology. Seemed a good fit for today.
Depicted with a dog head, lion claws and peacock body, she's an old bird. How old? Well, she's witnessed the destruction of the world three times over.
Old enough for ya?
And living that long mean she's super smart. But she's nice, too And she can purify the land and sea and bestow fertility. Naturally, she's a mediator between the earth and the sky.
Frankly, I can't really think of another benevolent flying mythological creature from Persia worthier of your admiration.
