Ymir is a frost giant from Norse mythology.
He was co-opted for modern audiences by Marvel for their comics books. In these stories, he is a big powerful frozen brute that likes to destroy things.
A big hulking man-thing that lives in the ice.
He wields an ice-club.
He's kinda like a yeti.
I mean, there's no question he's a snow-man and an abominable one at that.
He battles Thor a lot.
It's like the old sherpa saying: "There is a Yeti in the back of everyone’s mind; only the blessed are not haunted by it."
No matter who you are, no matter where you turn, a yeti's going to show up.
And you will have to fight it.
Everybody gotta fight a yeti.
