So there was once this mad scientist named Dr. Who.
No relation.
And he wanted the radioactive Element X from the Arctic underground. So he built a giant ape robot named Mechani-Kong to mine it. Makes sense.
Unfortunately, Element X was radioactive (surprise?) and damaged Mechani-Kong's controls and the robot betrayed his master.
Dr. Who was undeterred, however. His motto was: "When life gives you a malfunctioning Mechani-Kong, stick grenades to his belt and a hypnotizing ray to his head and send him to hypnotize King Kong so that the big ape will do the mining for you instead of Mechani-Kong."
Words to live by.
So anyway, that happened.
