Yumpy the Yeti

Look what my ♥official sweetie♥ made for me today as a surprise!

Its name is Yumpy.

She made it right in front of me yesterday, and I had no idea. Hiding it in plain sight...

Then she tweeted it and posted it to a blog this morning ... knowing that it would show up in my feeds during my daily routine trawling for yeti.

♥ So Sweet! ♥

Valentine Yeti

It's Valentine's Day, and that means LOVE.

Even the title of this blog has the word in it.

Scooby Doo Yeti

Oh man! The British get everything.

Here in the States if you go into a McDonalds right now and order a happy meal, you get a toy truck or a pink pony. But across the pond, you get a yeti!

Source

The theme of the UK happy meal is Scooby Doo and the Hunt for the Abominable Snowman.

And as near as I can tell, it's not promoting anything specific like a movie or a tv special. Some nice conscientious Brit just wanted the kids to have a yeti toy.

How fortune smiles on you, lucky British people.

Oh! I almost forgot. If you lift the head off the yeti, guess who's underneath?

And he would have gotten away with it too...

Give it Your Divine, Gleeful Attention

I recommend reading Behold, A Furry Blond Lobster by Mark Morford. Here's a passage:

If you are right now looking at this picture of the gorgeous and odd little Kiwa hirsuta crustacean and you don't feel a thing and your sense of wonder isn't poking at your soul to pay attention, and instead you're merely shrugging it all off in some über-jaded state of tepid I-don't-give-a-damn numbness, well, it might be time to put down the opium and seek some help, no?

Big deal? Maybe not. But then again, maybe. Maybe it's something to which you should pay some divine, gleeful attention.

Painting by Sarah Rose Adler

Just look. Kiwa hirsuta is just a little bit mesmerizing, strange, stirs up something deep and potent. An eyeless, albino, crablike animal, sublime and magical and perfect in its alien weirdness, about six inches long with forearms sticking straight out of its torso and extending twice the length of its body, with those forearms and its legs all covered in a silky blond fur, like something straight out of a medieval bestiary, a Sendak book, a Castaneda shaman's peyote dream.

Yetis and Coke

BIG NEWS!

This commercial aired during the Super Bowl.

Apparently, in a fantasy world, there is a community of yeti that wear clothing. They have Coke. And they use it very effectively for defense.

Thanks, Valanga!
